Report: Madison fifth in nation for healthy habits
A new report from the American College of Sports Medicine ranked Madison fifth overall for healthy habits as a community. The ACSM American Fitness Index assessment of the 100 largest cities in the U.S. highlights the health and health habits of communities across the U.S. and provides a snapshot of health progress. The ranking was compiled by using 34 indicators from publicly accessible and regularly updated sources. Indicators included metrics such as food insecurity, sleep, chronic disease, and physical activities. Arlington, Va., Minneapolis, Minn., Seattle, Wash., and Denver, Colo. rounded out the top five cities.
