Renovating the former Famous Footwear site

Livesey Co. is proposing a five-phase plan to redevelop a 23-acre swath of land including green space at the corner of Mineral Point and South Gammon roads on the west side.

According to the Wisconsin State Journal, Livesey’s proposal would demolish the corner office building which most recently served as Madison College’s west side campus but once was the headquarters for Famous Footwear.

In its place, a five-building, $50 million first phase named West Place would include a mix of office, retail, and 106 apartments.

In later phases, as many as 12 other buildings could be added to the site.

Livesey hopes to break ground next year and open the first phase in fall 2018.
