Recovery funds awarded to area nonprofits

Forty-seven nonprofit organizations including libraries, civic and cultural groups, and historical societies were awarded Wisconsin Humanities Recovery Grants, including four in Dane County. The funds will help the organizations respond to and recover from the pandemic. Recipients in Dane County are the Black Earth Public Library in Black Earth, and the Dane County Library Service, UW–Madison Center for the Humanities, and Dane County Historical Society, all in Madison. The awards represent the final round of grants made by Wisconsin Humanities with funds from the National Endowment for the Humanities and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. More than $367,000 was awarded statewide.
