Quick increase in local COVID-19 jeopardizes moving to phase 3
In the past five days, 279 people in Dane County have tested positive for COVID-19, according to a communication from Public Health Madison and Dane County.
This brings the county’s seven-day case average to 47 cases per day compared to a seven-day average from mid-June of just 17 cases per day. Half of the cases are people ages 20–29.
Sixty percent of the cases are from Madison and 40% are from other cities in Dane County. Residents are encouraged to stay home if possible, wear a mask when out, and get tested if they experience symptoms.
