Public market planning underway

Planning has begun for the future Madison Public Market at the corner of First Street and East Washington Avenue, but the first concept from a Seattle-based architectural firm drew mixed reactions from the Public Market Development Committee, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

The Madison Public Market is projected to incubate 35 businesses, create 265 full-time regional jobs, and have a $22 million annual economic impact.

City plans call for construction to begin in 2018.
