Psych hospital planned
Tennessee-based Strategic Behavioral Health is proposing to build a $15 million to $20 million psychiatric care facility with 72 beds, plus inpatient and outpatient care and a 24-hour crisis assessment center in either Madison or Middleton.
It would reportedly have a separate children’s area, be able to accommodate patients from other counties, and hopefully keep those with mental health issues out of the Dane County Jail, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.
The group hopes to open by the fall of 2019. Strategic Behavioral Health recently opened a similar facility in Green Bay.
