Propeller Health earns new FDA approval

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved two new versions of a device designed by Madison-based Propeller Health that is aimed at assisting people with chronic respiratory diseases.

The sensors track how asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) patients use their inhalers to help them understand what triggers an attack and gain better control of their symptoms.

The latest FDA approval will enable the system to be used with daily medications, not just with rescue inhalers used for emergencies.
