Phoenix Nuclear Labs signs contract with British firm

Phoenix Nuclear Labs signed a contract to supply a thermal neutron generation system to Ultra Electronics’ Nuclear Control Systems, a British defense, security, transport, and energy company with strong ties to nuclear power generation.

It is the first large-scale commercial contract for Phoenix, a Monona-based company, which until now had been funded largely by government and private investments. According to a release, the company’s technology offers capabilities in neutron radiography for defense and aerospace applications, as well as medical isotope production

Phoenix also announced that it recently closed on $1.15 million in private equity funding. The company will also be able to hire more employees and expand its manufacturing infrastructure after being approved for an additional $250,000 in loans from the Wisconsin Economic Development Corp.
