Panel recommends Stone House plan for Judge Doyle Square

Of the four plans proposed on the latest go-round for what’s to become of Judge Doyle Square, city planners are recommending a $40 million project from Stone House Development. That plan includes 7,000 square feet of commercial space and 159 apartments, with at least 37 affordable units based on household incomes.

Madison-based Gebhardt Development and Mandel Group of Milwaukee also submitted proposals that city staff says should be considered if negotiations with Stone House don’t go as planned.

The City Council is expected have the final say in late June or early July, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report.
