Operation Fresh Start receives $250,000 grant

Operation Fresh Start (OFS) will expand programming with the help of a two-year, $250,000 grant from Ascendium Education Group, according to a statement from the company. The funding will allow OFS to bolster its existing Graduate Crew program, which provides pre-apprentice training for young people just starting careers in the construction trades. It will also add a Conservation Graduate Crew to address a growing need for diverse young adults in that field. To date, OFS has helped over 8,000 young people on their path to higher education and employment. Graduate Crews work full time on commercial or residential projects with a construction partner. Ninety-three percent of those who complete the Graduate Crew program are placed in apprenticeships.
