One local electronics firm buys another

Pro-Active Engineering of Sun Prairie has acquired Apex Embedded Systems of Monona, expanding its design and engineering capabilities, according to a Wisconsin State Journal story.

With the acquisition, the four Apex employees, including founder Mike Ihm, have joined Pro-Active, raising its employee count to 72.

Pro-Active Engineering, which designs and assembles circuit boards, was founded in 1996, while Apex, an electronic and software engineering company, launched in 1992.
