Olbrich expansion plan continues

Discussions are continuing on a $10 million expansion of Olbrich Botanical Gardens at 3330 Atwood Ave. on Madison’s east side.

Plans call for the addition of an 8,500-square-foot educational center, demolishing and replacing the existing greenhouse, and expanding office space for staff.

Minnesota-based architecture firm Meyer, Scherer, Rockcastle Ltd. is working with Olbrich staff on the plans.

Costs will be split between the Olbrich Botanical Society and the city of Madison, according to the Wisconsin State Journal.

Construction could start in September 2018 and be competed a year later.
