Oakwood begins construction on skilled nursing and rehabilitation center
Oakwood Lutheran Senior Ministries, which owns and operates two continuing care retirement communities in Madison, has begun construction on a new skilled nursing and rehabilitation center at Oakwood Village University Woods, according to a release from the company. The $34.3 million project will replace Hebron Oaks, a skilled nursing facility originally constructed in the 1960s on its west side campus located on Mineral Point Road. The new building was designed by Eppstein Uhen Architects and will be constructed by Vogel Brothers Building company. Once completed in late 2022, the building will serve 60 patients with a focus on short-term rehabilitation services. The project also includes a wing dedicated specifically to providing palliative and end-of-life care and support to members of the Oakwood community.
