New terminal to be unveiled at Dane County Regional Airport
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 p.m. next Monday will celebrate the new south terminal at the Dane County Regional Airport hours after its inaugural flight departs.
The new terminal features an upper floor with 45,000 square feet of restaurants, retail, and other public space as well as a lower floor with 45,000 square feet of maintenance workshops and infrastructure. It will also add three new gates to the airport.
The completion of the terminal marks the completion of the first phase of an $85 million, two-phase project begun in 2021.
The second phase, to be completed in early 2024, will remove the former south terminal.
Editor’s note: A previous version of this story incorrectly reported the ribbon-cutting ceremony date as Monday, May 29 rather than Monday, June 5.
