New owners, name change for Maharaja restaurant
Maharaja, the oldest Indian restaurant in Madison, now boasts a new name and menu after a change in ownership, the Wisconsin State Journal reports.
The renamed Tandoori House, located at 6713 Odana Road, is now owned by restaurant consultant Anwar Zaidi and his wife, Reba, along with chef Dev Raj.
The new owners say they are bringing back “authentic Indian food,” and they’ve pared the once voluminous 200-item menu down to a trim 60 items.
The revamped menu will have nearly to a dozen traditional tandoori items cooked in a clay oven, as well as featuring some Pakistani specialties.
