Music video release to raise awareness

Indigenous artist Kelly Jackson will release her “Don’t Speak” music video with a community listening session on Sept. 2, from 5–7 p.m., at Red Rooster, 2513 Seiferth Road, in Madison. The event will include a talk show-style presentation featuring the music video premiere, interviews with community leaders, and a behind-the-scenes look at the music video filming process. A live performance by Kelly Jackson’s Show Your Roots band will begin at 8 p.m. All proceeds from the “Don’t Speak” video and the live “SHE ROCKS” Talk Show premiere event will benefit Jackson’s “IMPACT CHANGE Initiative” to bring awareness to murdered and missing Indigenous women and raise funds for victims and survivors of domestic violence.
