More retail coming to Prairie Town Center

A new $1.2 million, 8,233-square-foot retail building is being planned for Prairie Town Center, a retail corner of Mineral Point and Junction Roads in far-west Madison. Currently, the shopping corner has no standalone restaurant businesses.

According to an article in the Wisconsin State Journal, UBS Global, which owns the retail center that also includes a Party City, Target, and Bed Bath & Beyond, has received city approval to build in the parking lot outside of Pick ’n Save. As many as five business could move to the new building, including two or three restaurants. Potential tenants have yet to be announced.

In the same lot, a 12,000-square-foot Lands’ End building could also be subdivided in the future should the Dodgeville-based clothing retailer at some point decide to downsize or relocate. Lands’ End hasn’t announced any such plans yet.
