More groups to be vaccinated starting next week, but Dane County has postponed teachers
Wisconsin health officials will move forward with the second half of Phase 1B vaccination groups next week, according to a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel story.
Included in the group to be vaccinated beginning March 1 are education and child care workers; people in Medicaid long-term care programs such as IRIS and Family Care; public-facing essential workers, such as 911 operators, public transit workers, utility workers, and food supply chain workers; non-frontline health care personnel; people in congregate living such as those in mental health institutions or people who are incarcerated; and mink husbandry workers. The groups are prioritized with education workers at the top of the list.
However, according to a recent Wisconsin State Journal report, COVID-19 vaccinations for teachers in Dane County have been delayed two weeks based on new guidance from the state Department of Health Services.
