Monona hotel breaks ground

Monona held a groundbreaking May 1 for Avid by IHG, a hotel that will be located at 900 W. Broadway. The 95-room hotel, to be managed by Iowa-based Kinseth Hospitality Companies, is expected to open in the summer of 2019, according to a release.

"We chose the Monona Riverfront Development because of its high energy environment,” stated Bruce Kinseth, in a release. “It has a vibrancy with all of the nearby restaurants and coffee shops creating endless amounts of excitement that will draw many travelers.” He described the Avid brand as “a fresh new product with a mix of a high-energy development, great value rooms, and a new efficient design.”

Kinseth Hospitality currently operates over 65 hotels and five branded restaurants in 12 states.
