Minocqua Brewing Co. owner to open Madison tasting room
Minocqua Brewing Co. owner Kirk Bangstad has announced plans to open a second location in a vacant space adjacent to Trixie’s Liquor at 2929 E. Washington Ave., according to the Wisconsin State Journal. The space was formerly occupied by Growlers to Go-Go, which closed in February.
The plans for a new tasting room come as Bangstad remains embroiled in lawsuits against the town of Minocqua and Oneida County over zoning concerns as well as political controversy. He says his Minocqua location will remain open but the Madison space will offer a lucrative expansion — and a source of revenue should his downtown Minocqua location be forced to close. His beer has already seen popularity at retail locations throughout the city.
Bangstad has secured a lease, an architect, and an interior designer for his Madison tasting room and hopes to open the doors in November or December.
