Midwest Prototyping acquired by Connecticut company

Blue Mounds-based Midwest Prototyping has been sold to Prototek Holdings in New Hampshire, Connecticut, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The 20-year-old 3D printing company says the sale was to accommodate growth for both Midwest Prototyping and Prototek, and both companies will reach more customers. Midwest Prototyping manufactures automotive, motorsports, and aviation industry parts with six different types of additive printers. Prototek specializes in machining metal or bending sheet metal for aerospace, defense, medical, robotics, electronics, and consumer industry customers.
