Middleton apartments to build out, not up

A proposed three-story, 39-unit apartment building on University Avenue in Middleton may have new legs, and its footprint will likely get wider.

The Addison, proposed by developer Anthony Gray, would be built on four lots Gray owns in the 6800 block of University Avenue. One of those lots includes a single-family home Gray now uses for his other business, the Institute for Global Ethics, according to a Wisconsin State Journal story. That home would be demolished.

Gray’s original plan was to build a four-story building on three of the four lots and save the home, but neighbors and the City Council rejected the proposed height. The Council votes on the revised three-story plan Feb. 19.
