Microsoft interested in developing $1B data center in Mount Pleasant
Microsoft is considering an agreement to purchase 315 acres of land in the village of Mount Pleasant, land that is currently part of the Foxconn development, for $50 million, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.
The company intends to spend a total of $1 billion on developing a data center on the land over the next decade-plus.
The proposed development will be considered by the Mount Pleasant Village Board on March 30 and the Racine County Board at its April 11 and April 25 meetings. If the agreement goes through, work on the development will begin no later than July 2026.
