MGE posts lower earnings

MGE Energy, Inc. reported lower earnings for the quarter ending June 30. The utility posted earnings of $13.9 million (60 cents/share) compared to $14.3 million (62 cents/share) for the same quarter in 2012, when the area was experiencing higher than normal temperatures. Operating revenue increased year over year in the same quarter, from $117.2 million to $128.3 million.
