Metcalfe’s Market donates to first responders, children in crises

A donation from Metcalfe’s Market will allow the Monona Police and Fire Departments to receive “REACH BAGs” filled with children’s books for use in comforting children in crises. The books through nonprofit REACH-A-Child also serve to distract the child from the source of the trauma. The departments will be given hundreds of additional children’s books for community engagement purposes. REACH-A-Child currently serves more than 240 first responder departments in the state and distributes more than 20,000 new children’s books to that network annually.
