Median household income down 4.4% since 2009
A report from Sentier Research shows a 4.4% decline in U.S. median household income from 2009 to 2013, after adjustments for inflation. The country’s median income in June 2013 was $52,098. In June 2009, when the recession officially ended, the median household income was $54,478. In 2007, before the Great Recession, the median household income was reported at $55,480. Nearly every age group is worse off, according to the report, except for seniors aged 65 to 74.
