MATC pays off 4,500 outstanding student accounts
Madison College has used federal COVID-19 relief money to erase $4 million in debt, affecting nearly 4,500 students, according to a Wisconsin State Journal report. The financial move aims to get students who dropped out during the pandemic registered and back to school this fall. Already, more than 100 students who had a hold on their accounts have reenrolled. With more notifications being sent out, the college expects that number to rise. The effort is part of a national movement to help students continue their education amid the disruption caused by the pandemic.
