Mallatt’s closing pharmacies
Mallatt’s Pharmacy is getting out of the pharmacy business to focus on costumes and gifts.
The Waunakee and Lodi Mallatt’s locations will close, while the Monroe Street and Williamson Street stores will reopen with a gift and costume focus. The name will be changed from Mallatt’s Pharmacy to Mallatt’s Costumes, according to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal.
Prescriptions for the Monroe and Williamson Sreet locations will be transferred to Walgreens locations nearby.
Mallatt’s opened in 1923 and has operated a pharmacy on Monroe Street since 1941. Its reputation as a costume destination began in the 1960s.
