Makeshift Festival

The inaugural Makeshift Festival celebrating creativity in the visual and culinary arts was held Aug. 20 at Olbrich Park. Highlighting the rich history of Madison’s public spaces, Makeshift brought together regional designers and visual artists to use the natural beauty of Madison’s parks as their canvas, and restaurants from Madison and throughout the Midwest to present ambitious, affordable dishes in a family-friendly, engaging, and immersive experience. Makeshift is a community fundraiser designed to support the Madison Parks Foundation and was presented in partnership with The Bubbler at Madison Public Library, Underground Food Collective, VEA Events: Visual Edible Audible, Cork ‘n Bottle, FlakPhoto Projects, Arts +
Literature Laboratory, and Reverbal Communications. Photos courtesy: Emily Julka, Michael Duffy, and the Makeshift Festival. (For information on getting your event featured in the IB Gallery, email jason@ibmadison.com.)
