Madison still waiting for transportation funds

Madison transportation officials and other municipal leaders in Wisconsin say they are missing federal grant money earmarked for transportation, according to a report in the Capital Times.

According to the report, the city of Madison claims to be missing about $6.78 million in federal funding it should have received last year under a federal grant program for municipalities. Similar reports have surfaced in Appleton and Green Bay.

Wisconsin Democrats pounced on the news, saying it offers further proof of their assertion that Gov. Scott Walker has mismanaged road funding and the state Department of Transportation.
