Madison ranks No. 8 among best mid-sized U.S. cities for recent grads 

A recent study from CoworkingCafe evaluating the best U.S. locations for recent grads to start their careers ranked Madison eighth among mid-sized cities. The study looked at job opportunities, income levels, cost of living, lifestyle amenities, and other metrics. 

Over 45% of the young population in Madison holds a bachelor’s degree, and just over 10% of jobs available were found highly suitable for recent graduates. The unemployment rate among the same population is 5%. 

The median income among recent graduates is $62,433, and 76.5% receive employer-based health insurance coverage. The cost of living in Madison is 3.3% below the national average. 

The city has 357 leisure amenities and five coworking spaces per 100,000 residents as well.
