Madison ranked No. 2 midsized metro for millennials 

A new study from CommercialCafe has ranked Madison the second-best midsized metro overall for millennials, who currently comprise the largest working-age population in the nation. Madison had the third-largest proportion of millennials across its total population among the top 10, at 21.9%. 

The study also found Madison’s millennial population to be the most educated among midsized metros, with 56.2% of its millennial population holding a bachelor’s degree or higher. Madison millennials had the highest employer-sponsored health insurance coverage recorded as well, at 79.1%. 

The average household income for millennials in Madison came in second among the top 10, at $86,182, and the metro registered the lowest unemployment rate among the top 10, at 1.6%.
