Madison ranked in top 20 of most recovered cities

Using new data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, a new report from WalletHub ranked Madison 16th among the most recovered cities in the country for unemployment. Lincoln, Nebraska ranked highest in the study, which compared 180 cities based on four key metrics. The study considered the change in each city’s unemployment during March 2021 compared to March 2019, March 2020, and January 2020. Each city’s overall unemployment rate was also considered. The national unemployment rate is currently at 6% after reaching a peak of 14.7% last year.
