Madison makes list of snobbiest U.S. cities

In the for-what-it’s-worth department, Madison has made Movoto.com’s top 10 list of the snobbiest cities in America. Snobby cities, according to the real estate site’s all-in-fun report, are those where most residents consider themselves better than everyone else, and Madison came in at number nine.

The ranking is based on median home price, median household income, percent of the population with a college degree, private schools per capita, performing arts venues per capita, art galleries per capita, and fast-food restaurants per capita.

Being labeled as snobby isn’t necessarily a bad thing, the website insists, noting that it simply means a city has culture, money, and nice houses. Incidentally, San Francisco came in at number one.
