Madison battery developer secures $2.8M in venture funding

Madison-based Silatronix Inc. generated $2.8 million in venture funding as part of a proposed $4.2 million financing round the company is trying to complete. The chemical company is using technology developed by UW-Madison chemists and others to produce electrolytes made with organosilicon compounds, and it’s marketing those compounds to battery makers to help them develop safer, more lightweight, and more environmentally friendly lithium ion batteries. Silatronix launched in 2008.
