Madison among first to get flights on new regional aircraft

Beginning Sunday, Oct. 27, United Airlines will fly what it calls “the revolutionary” Bombardier CRJ 550 aircraft from Madison’s Dane County Regional Airport. The new aircraft is marketed as the world’s only 50-seat regional aircraft to offer first-class seating and other premium amenities.

When United begins offering local customers flights on the CRJ 550 to Chicago O’Hare on Oct. 27, Dane County Regional will be one of the first airports to offer the service. Features include more legroom, storage, and amenities than other regional aircraft.

Tickets on the CRJ 550 will be available for purchase starting Saturday, Oct. 12, and the service will complement United’s existing service from Madison to its hubs at Denver, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, and San Francisco.
