Liquor statutes could ease
Four Republican lawmakers — Reps. Dale Kooyega, Shannon Zimmerman, Gary Tauchen, and Sen. Sheila Harsdorf — have proposed a bill that would significantly ease restrictions that have long faced breweries, wineries, and distilleries in the state.
If the measure passes, according to the Wisconsin State Journal, hours could be extended, the amount of wine and beer an establishment could produce in a year would be increased, wineries could sell product on-site rather than only through distributors, and distilleries could operate more like brewpubs do now, with restaurant facilities.
Municipalities could also increase the number of liquor licenses issued by 10%.
