Library proposal plans for design phase

The “Imagination Center” library planned for Reindahl Park on the city’s northeast side is poised to enter an initial design process next year and may be completed as soon as 2024, according to a report from the Wisconsin State Journal.

The project aims to incorporate the needs of the unique demographics of the area and provide culturally representative collections of books and media, as well as offer citizenship and immigration resources. A study released in March found that area residents are less likely to have completed high school or college compared with the general Madison population, and 14% of residents (about 1,500 households) do not have internet service.

Visitors to the center will have access to the internet, financial aid, and literary assistance, according to the study.
