Latino Academy of Workforce Development launches new sustainability training
The Latino Academy of Workforce Development has launched an expansion unit of its Bilingual Leadership Academy training with a focus on energy efficiency and sustainability, according to a report from Madison 365. The Taking Action for Sustainability with Energy Efficiency training will train 15 student leaders as energy and sustainability facilitators. Participants will gain knowledge of sustainability concepts, learn how actions can impact climate change, and explore methods for energy efficiency in homes. The new program is made possible by the Dane County Office of Energy & Climate Change’s Clean Energy Economic Development Grant Program. The new curriculum was developed in partnership with nonprofits Sustain Dane and Elevate.
