Lands’ End’s profits surge

For the quarter ending Oct. 31, Lands’ End reported a surge in profits while revenue dipped. Merchandise sales were down 2.8% from $383.9 million a year ago to $373.1 million, but the Dodgeville-based company’s net income rose 26% to $18 million (56 cents/share). That compares to 45 cents/share a year ago.
