Lands’ End to lay off nearly 200 at Dodgeville call center

Citing fewer phone orders, Lands’ End has announced that it will lay off 199 workers at its Dodgeville call center, a 29% reduction in the facility’s workforce.

The retailer said nearly 80% of its orders now are being placed online, and call volume has fallen more than 50% in the past decade.  The lower phone volume will result in the elimination of 86 full-time and 63 part-time positions by the end of January 2013.

Lands’ End also has call centers in Reedsburg and Stevens Point.
