Lands’ End posts another disappointing quarter

For the third straight quarter, Dodgeville-based Lands’ End Inc. posted a loss, with revenue dropping 10% and profit by more than a third.

Revenue fell by $34.8 million, to $312.4 million for the quarter ended July 31. Net income decreased by $4.4 million — 37% — to $7.5 million.

Net income per share was 23 cents, down from 37 cents a year ago.

In response to the recent dismal quarterly performances, new CEO Federica Marchionni is spearheading initiatives to attract younger and more fashion-conscious customers, while retaining Lands’ End’s traditional customer base, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.
