La Crosse pledges 100% clean energy
The city of La Crosse is the fifth city around the state of Wisconsin to commit to be 100 percent clean, renewable energy, after the City Council adopted a resolution to do so by 2050. The resolution was drafted by members of the Coulee Region Sierra Club’s Ready for 100 team, the Sustainable La Crosse Commission, and a representative from the city planning department.
La Crosse joins Madison, Monona, Middleton, and Eau Claire in public pledges to move away from fossil fuels. La Crosse also promised to be carbon neutral by 2050.
