Kombucha business opens at Garver

NessAlla Kombucha began production from newly renovated space within the historic Garver Feed Mill building behind Olbrich Botanical Gardens.

Owners Vanessa Tortolano and Alla Tsypin launched the Madison kombucha brewing company in 2008 and the move to Garver doubles its production facility on the city’s east side.

Bachmann Construction has been restoring the entire 1906 brick structure — a beet production plant even before it became a feed mill — since December 2017.

NessAlla is the first business to move in, with others opening in spring and summer.
