Kollath CPA’s Get Fit team vows to hit its numbers

Ten professionals and 10 teams are competing in the 2014 Get Fit Challenge, a spinoff of IB’s popular Fittest Executive Challenge. Who will earn the healthiest marks? Follow along on Facebook and then find out at the In Business Expo & Conference on Oct. 22. This week, IB checks in with Danielle Trace of Kollath & Associates CPA, which is competing in the team challenge. Trace’s co-workers Aimee Kent, Katrina Sweeney, and Mike Kollath round out the team.

It was a challenge for all of us to stay committed to healthy eating and consistent workouts during tax season. But now that our busy time has ended, we are ready to give 110% and make our goals a reality. I asked my teammates and myself this simple question: Why did you want to be on Kollath CPA’s Get Fit team?

Aimee is looking for some extra motivation. She is a very active person but has a lot more fun working out with a group of people. She enjoys friendly competition and having the freedom to talk smack to our boss, Mike. She wants the team to win and wants to be the best of our team.

Katrina wants to get support and words of encouragement from her teammates. She knows she will reach her goals and stay committed if she has other people tracking her progress as well. Since this is an accounting firm, she is sure that we will hold her accountable.

Mike has an addiction to potato chips and wanted to be a part of this team so he could break some of his unhealthy eating habits. He loves to have fun and knew that this would be a great bonding experience with his co-workers. Mike wants to go from fat to phat, which his wife will surely appreciate.

Danielle (me). I knew that all my teammates were active outside of work. In high school and college I was always moving around and playing sports, but once I started this job (my first full-time job) I lost my commitment to exercise. Being on this team will help me make big changes and get back to the fit, confident girl that I used to be.
