June home sales set record in Dane County

The 1,091 home sales in June in Dane County were an all-time record, according to the South Central Wisconsin Multiple Listing Service Corp.’s monthly report.

It also continues an upward trend in 2015, as 3,988 homes were sold in Dane County during the first six months, compared to 3,471 in 2014.

Overall, June home sales numbers in the county are up 11% compared to a year ago.

Median prices also continue to climb, which signifies demand is outpacing supply. The median sale price in Dane County was $234,900 in June compared to $223,755 in the same month in 2014, a 5% increase.

For the first half of the year, home sales are up 11.3% percent and the median sale price is 8.5% percent higher in the MLS South Central Region.
