Judge Doyle Square to include $1M bike center
The city of Madison is looking for an operator of its $1 million bike center in the Judge Doyle Square project downtown, and it may be Freewheel Community Bike Shop, a nonprofit that currently operates a facility on South Park Street.
According to the Wisconsin State Journal, plans for the bike center could include paid, indoor, and secure bike parking, pass-card access to members, changing areas, two showers, on-site bike mechanics, a bike repair and wash station, a retail bike shop, and bike information and classes.
Some of the amenities, such as the bike stations, will be available to the general public, as well.
