Judge Doyle Square developer drops lawsuit against city
Chicago-based Beitler Real Estate Services has dropped its lawsuit against the city of Madison pertaining to the Judge Doyle Square project in downtown Madison without prejudice.
According to a report in the Wisconsin State Journal, Beitler’s decision to drop the case means the two sides will once again be able to continue discussions about the project, although construction has continued all along.
Beitler sued the city in June, claiming it was misappropriating additional funds it requested — and the city agreed to provide — for private portions of the JDS project, including an above-grade parking structure and retail.
