Judge Doyle Square decision delayed

The city committee assigned to choose a project developer for the ambitious Judge Doyle Square development downtown has decided it needs more time to sort through complex issues. Two developers, JDS Development ($159.1 million/$16.8 million in TIF) and Journeyman Group ($178.8 million/$46.7 million in TIF), are vying for the chance to bring a large hotel, office space, retail, and housing to two prime downtown city blocks that now include the Madison Municipal Building and the Government East parking garage. The committee will push its final decision into late January before recommending a developer to work with the city.
