IB Expo: The college of business knowledge

A few months ago, we announced this year’s Expo Keynote presentation by Dennis Snow, a customer-service expert with 20 years of experience at Disney. Early interest in this keynote has been phenomenal, and if you haven’t yet purchased your ticket or a table for your company, you need to act fast.

This month, however, we want to focus on other educational opportunities at this year’s Expo. We felt it was important to add back some additional learning sessions to the event, so we have included three professional development seminars on topics of interest to many — leadership, branding, and sales.

  • “Learning from 7 Bad Habits of Highly Ineffective Leaders,” presented by Laura V. Page, director of leadership and management programs at UW–Madison’s Division of Continuing Studies.
  • “Does Your Brand Need a Refresh?” This will be presented by Todd LaBeau and Lindsay Ferris, both senior vice presidents at Lindsay Stone & Briggs.
  • “Selling in 2020: Master the Changing Sales Landscape,” presented by Chuck West, former program director and lecturer for sales, advanced management, and leadership at UW–Madison’s School of Business Center for Professional and Executive Development.

Each seminar will run for 45 minutes and will include able items that you’ll be able to implement at your own company. For more details on what you can expect to learn from each of these seminars, we direct you to our Expo Preview on page 54 of this issue. You’ll also be able to learn more about Dennis Snow’s keynote presentation, our current list of exhibitors, and many other fun things you can experience at this year’s event.

Once you are ready to register for the Expo, go to www.MadisonBusinessExpo.com/attend. The seminars are included in the $10 ticket fee. If you are interested in attending the keynote presentation, tickets for that program cost $50 (which includes admission to the Expo and the seminars).

Back in June, we offered a 20 percent discount to the keynote presentation, an offer that still stands. When filling out your online keynote registration, click on the “enter promo code” link near the top, then type LEADINGOFF. This will apply the discount to the $50 keynote ticket fee.
